Falkenberg Strandbad is definitely one of my favourite spa hotels in Sweden. Visiting Falkenberg Strandbad was more than just weekend at a spa hotel in Halland. As soon as you entered the spa you were no longer in Sweden, you were on a tropical island somewhere where it never gets cold and pina coladas run all day round. The outside pool is perfect for summer days, while the heated glasshouse makes the cosiest spot to calm down in the evenings.
Falkenberg Strandbad is quite large compared to other spas in Halland, however, the space in the spa and hotel are set up so you still feel like you are all alone. Whether you are looking for a cosy spa weekend away or a tropical island getaway in Sweden then this is definitely somewhere you should visit!

How to get to Falkenberg Strandbad
Falkenberg is located in the middle of Halland, about 1.5 hours south of Gothenburg and 2 hours north of Malmö. The spa hotel sits right on the edge of Skrea stand, a beach with a view that looks over to Denmark on a sunny day. The easiest way to get there is by car, however, it is possible to take public transport! If you take the train to Falkenberg Station it is then just a 5 minute bus (1) to Falkenberg Busstation and then a 3 minute bus to Falkenberg Plankagårdsvägen (351). From here it is a 800m walk to Falkenberg Strandbad.
What to do in Falkenberg
Falkenberg itself is a small coastal town. It is a popular summer destination due to its beautiful beaches and small town atmosphere. Other than visiting Falkenberg Strandbad for a spa weekend, you can also visit Skrea Strand for a swim. Take a walk down Doktorspromenaden in the centre of town, or explore the marine life in Grimsholmen Nature Reserve. The best cafe is by far Stålboms Konditori, and you should make sure to walk past Falkenbergs Kyrka to see a bit of history too!
Our spa hotel room
The hotel is designed in modern chic with pastel colours making the rooms feel light and airy. There is a slight essence of beach house vibes with the bamboo furniture and beautiful black and white pictures hanging on the walls, feeling reminiscent of a 1950’s beach holiday. We stayed in a Double Room with a balcony towards the sea and it was absolutely amazing!
The room was relatively large with a bed, a desk and a few chairs to sit in. The bathroom was styled in black and white with crystal taps making it feel very luxury. The balcony outside was the best part. Opening up the windows and stepping onto the large decked French balcony all you see if the vast ocean around you. In the evenings we sat here with a glass of wine and watched as the sun set over the horizon. The view from Falkenberg Strandbad was perfect.
The Food
Breakfast on the balcony of Falkenberg Strandbad spa hotel
Breakfast is included in every overnight booking at Falkenberg Strandbad spa hotel. As a part of the booking, we could decide whether to go to the buffet breakfast in the main hotel or whether to have our breakfast delivered to our bedroom. We opted for delivery as we wanted to eat it on our balcony with an ocean view. At 8am we got a knock on our door. We had requested this early don’t worry; it is possible to get breakfast until 11am. In came two glasses of juice, tea and coffee, yoghurt, sandwiches, a fruit platter and egg and bacon. It was more than enough for the two of us! We set up on the balcony outside and enjoyed our breakfast, It was the perfect start to the day!
Dinner in the spa
We ended up eating dinner inside the spa as we couldn’t bear to leave the tranquil environment to eat in the hotel’s restaurant. The food here is order at the bar and the menu resembles tropical Hawaii with poke bowls and fresh summer salads. We ended up ordering the chilli shrimp salad and the chilli chicken bowl. Both were absolutely delicious!
Falkenberg Strandbad Spa
When can you visit the spa?
The spa is what makes Falkenberg Strandbad one of the best spa hotels in Halland. We went in with relatively high expectations and they were still not nearly high enough. The minute you walk into the spa and smell the warm air you start to feel relaxed. During our visit it was only possible to enter the spa for a 4-hour period in the evening and morning. This meant that you had to book your time slot when you checked in and were given a coloured wrist band depending on what session you chose.
The indoor pool
We chose to take the evening session and the morning session so we could make the most of our time there. We arrived at the spa at 6pm and immediately sat down on one of the big lounge beds beside the indoor pool. Here they have games set up so you can play chess or cards whilst drinking cocktails from the bar. There is a large indoor pool with a swim up fireplace. This is a super cosy spot to sit and relax on a cold evening.
The glass house
The outside area of Falkenberg spa is just as beautiful. There is a heated pool that’s lit up in the evenings, a small jacuzzi and a heated glasshouse. As you enter the glasshouse you immediately feel the warmth of the fireplaces and don’t want to leave.
The sauna
On the other side of the spa is a long and shallow heated pool. The pool is separated by hanging walls so if you are sitting on one of the day beds it feels like you have your own private pool area. There is a small sauna at the end next to a door which takes you outside to the beach. Here you can swim or jump off the dock and then come back in for a sauna. It is the perfect thing to do in the day time!
Falkenberg strandbad is one of the best spa hotels in Halland. It is a tropical paradise with great food and amazing vibes. I could not recommend a visit here any more!
